what makes us unique?
I’m celebrating 20 years in business this month! Wow, it’s been an incredible journey and honor to work with thousands of leaders, individuals and organizations around the world. As an Executive and Leadership Coach, I help people transform their lives, lead with impact and achieve their greatest visions and goals. I mix organization strategy with the psychology of human behavior and leadership development.
My super power is shifting tricky dysfunctional patterns in people, groups and systems to have profound changes in behaviors and actions that are LIFE CHANGING! I am also a published author and a speaker (see my books below!)
I went on purpose journey to start a girls and women's empowerment mission in rural Africa, which led me to adopting my beautiful daughter and developing a purpose roadmap process that is now offered to my clients (see my free roadmap below!)
After dealing with great loss of my parents and the stresses of COVID-19 and local tragedies, I became a certified Grief Educator, trained in trauma-informed practices and mind-heart-body-soul wellness which is embedded into my holistic approach to well-being.
I have a Psychology degree from Michigan State University, a Masters in Organization Development from Pepperdine and various coaching and leadership trainings and certifications.
I’m passionate about inclusion, personal and spiritual growth. When I’m not working, you can find me frolicking on my boat or at a beach, laughing with my daughter, Kenya, or hosting parties at our lakefront home near Detroit, Michigan.
This rattled my soul.
It was a daily struggle that motivated me to immerse myself in training, mentoring, feedback and relationships with black and transracial adopted families to learn how to best nurture, support and advocate for my beautiful babygirl and be the best Mother I can be.
Being Kenya’s Mother is the greatest JOY of my life and it has blessed me with important learnings and a passionate calling to be an Inclusion Advocate.
The comments we get and unique challenges we face daily that we have being a multi-racial, adoptive, single mother household often surprises people. That will be another book to write. Maybe someday….
For now, it’s inspired a lifelong learning, core value and commitment to inclusion as part of me everyday life and work.
Honoring differences of all kinds, not just the ones our family has, is what our children, families, workplaces and the world needs right now, more than ever.
As a woman who grew up in a white suburb outside of Detroit with very little diversity, my first meaningful experience about inclusion was long ago in what I call my “frying pan moment” at a leadership training with the Gestalt Institute. My mind was blown when I finally saw the systemic power and privilege dynamics in the world, how blind I was to them and my own internal biases and privileged paradigms.
I could not believe that I never knew how different life was for people that didn’t have my color skin, education, lifestyle, spiritual beliefs, abilities and social economic situation. I could not “unsee” this painful truth. I took my privileged blinders off and went on a journey to understand these dynamics in myself and in the world and how it all got this way.
After more deep realizations on a mission trip in Africa, I adopted my daughter Kenya as a full-time single mama and all of this became much more PERSONAL. I was introduced to a whole new world of racism and cultural differences and biases that I never knew existed...
THIS RATTLED MY SOUL.
It was a daily struggle that motivated me to immerse myself in training, mentoring, feedback and relationships with black and transracial adopted families to learn how to best nurture, support and advocate for my beautiful baby girl, be the best Mom I can be and do what is best for our unique family.
Being Kenya’s Mother is the greatest JOY of my life and it has blessed me with rich important learnings and a passionate calling to be an Inclusion Advocate.
The comments we get and unique challenges we face being a multi-racial, adoptive, single mother household are constant and daily, but we have learned how to navigate them. When I share details of our experiences it often surprises people. That will be another book to write! Maybe someday…

Jen Todd reminds me of Flavia Weedn’s words, “Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.”
This book is a daily guide of short inspirational wisdom, affirmative prayers, and mantras to get you centered and connect you to your soul. There are 30 days of readings that only take 2- 3 minutes each day to give you peace and an elevated perspective.
This sweet children's book is about the life of my dear Mom, Jude, a great mother, grandmother and friend to all. Through the actions of her life, we learn the ABC's of giving unconditional love. The book engages little readers in reflection questions to apply the virtues of loving others to their own life.
Wisdom, insights and strategies for leaders and change makers who want growth, purpose, well-being and a positive people impact.
